There was a comet that came by at the beginning of October. On one of the nights that it was supposed to be at its brightest, I went out to try to get a picture of it. The bad news was that it was cloudy. The good news was that the clouds made for a really beautiful sunset!
I took a few photos of the sunset, the moon, and Venus, and hoped that the clouds would magically disappear. They didn't, so I packed up and went back home. Often that is the way it goes with astronomy. Technical Details: This photo was taken with my Canon 5D Mark II + Tamron SP 150-600 at 150mm, ISO 100, f/8 for 1/60th of a second.
