For Angela's birthday this year I bought tickets to see Maroon 5. We were actually planning to see them in concert last year (with Meghan Trainor opening), but that concert was obviously cancelled. Since then, I think Meghan Trainor had a baby, so we didn't get to see her, but we did get to see Maroon 5!

Adam Levine said he was told that this was the first major concert to happen in Canada since the pandemic started. He was honoured to have been selected as the first big act to play. They were playing at Budweiser Stage, so it was an outdoor venue with plenty of natural ventilation. They also required everyone to have proof of full vaccination or negative covid test, and they only sold around 75% of the seats to allow for a bit of spacing.

The concert itself was great! We had a little trouble finding parking, so we missed the opening act, but we got to our seats just a minute before Maroon 5 came out. They sounded good, and played a lot of their hit songs, including alternate versions of some of them. Getting out of the venue was a little sketchy, with everyone having to funnel through some narrow spaces to leave, but it felt a bit better to know that we were all outside, and theoretically all vaccinated or virus-free.
