A big part of photography is being in the right place at the right time. This sugar bush caught my eye on the commute home a few weeks ago, and I have been trying to figure out how to properly capture it in a photo. I only pass it twice a day: In the morning when the sun is low in the east and nicely illuminating the stand of trees, or in the evening when the sun is high in the west washing out the sky and backlighting the trees. However, in the morning there is nobody in the sugar shack, so I eventually decided to take a photo in the evening when the evaporator is on, even though the lighting is less than ideal.

I'm pretty happy with how the picture turned out, especially considering that it was taken from the side of a busy road through the drivers side of my car in between traffic passing by.

Technical Details: This is a panorama made from 9 photos taken with my 5D Mark II + EF 70-300IS at 300mm, ISO 100, f/11 for 1/100th of a second.
