Angela and I combined our birthday presents this year to buy tickets to see Peter Gabriel and Sting in concert together on the Rock Paper Scissors Tour. It was an amazing concert, and really interesting to see how they did it.

They had both bands on stage at the same time. Sting's band was dressed in blue. Peter Gabriel's band was dressed in red. They alternated playing songs, kind of like the two bands were battling for the audience's attention and applause. But they would also switch it up, so sometimes Sting would come on stage and sing a Peter Gabriel song, or vice-versa. Often they would do duets as well, alternating singing the verses to a song, or with one backing up the other.

The audience was interesting as well. You could tell that there were people there who were die-hard Peter Gabriel fans who had never heard any of Sting's stuff (like Angela). There also seemed to be a lot of people who were huge Sting fans but didn't seem to "get" Peter Gabriel's music. I'm familiar with both artists' back catalog so I was able to enjoy everything!

We treated ourselves to central seats for the first time ever (row 17), so we had a pretty decent view of the concert. It was a very enjoyable dual birthday date night!

Technical Details: This photo was taken with my Moto G. I turned the exposure compensation down as far as possible so that the phone would not overexpose the stage. It worked surprisingly well!
