After our successful autumn walk in Waterloo, we decided to try an autumn walk in Elora. Angela had invited some local moms over to our house with the promise of a nice walk along the Elora Cataract Trailway, so we had to scout out the route and see how long it would take to walk it.

We set out heading east along South River Road from our house, and after about 600 meters, we turned right on Gilkison Road. About 400 meters up Gilkison Road, we turned right along the Elora Cataract Trailway. I took this picture just after we got onto the trail. From there, it is a nice 1km walk along the trail, which runs between farms and past a new housing development. When we hit Bridge Street, we turned right and headed back down about 400 meters to South River Road, where it was another 600 meters to get home.

So, we discovered a nice 3km loop, which took us about 45 minutes to walk. I have a feeling we will become quite familiar with the local sections of the Elora Cataract Trailway over the next few years!

Comments

That 1/50th of a second seemed to capture each individual leaf! Nice photo.
