This was the first Halloween in many years where it didn't rain on us! The kids had a great time going trick-or-treating in their costumes. Some of the houses we visited were really decked out with spooky Halloween decorations. Aila wasn't fazed by anything, and the only thing Kai was scared of was a boy dressed up as a hockey player.

We also had fun carving jack-o-lanterns this year. Aila designed the one on the left based on sticker and Angela carved it. Kai carved the one on the right hand-over-hand with Angela, and I carved the one in the middle based on a reference picture.

After an hour of trick-or-treating, the sky was clear enough that we were able to do some stargazing on our way back. We saw the big dipper, Cassiopeia, Polaris, and Venus.

Technical Details: These photos (upper, lower) were taken with my 5D Mark II + Tamron 28-75 at (75mm, 42mm), ISO 3200, f/2.8 for (1 second, 1/100th of a second).
