Aila started daycare this month. The first two weeks were pretty rough, mostly because she caught some sort of virus and wasn't feeling the best. I think I caught the same virus and I was pretty miserable for a few days, so I'm pretty impressed that she was able to keep her spirits up as much as she did.

She did much better at daycare this week. She is obviously getting used to having a bunch of other kids around and having different adults taking care of her. Since Angela and I commute together, she has to spend a full 9 hours at daycare each day. I think it is a little much to ask of a 14 month old, but she is handling it very well.

Without the year-long maternity leave, kids down here go to 9 hours of daycare
starting around 2 months of age! So Aila is lucky she got a full year with you,
but, then again, these other kids never know any different! Best wishes to her!
