We got our first major snowfall of the season last night. It was a perfect opportunity to go out and photograph the natural Christmas tree in our front yard! It is hard to get an appreciation for how big it is from this photo, but try to picture this: When standing at the top of my 14-foot step ladder, I still had to use a two foot pole to get the lights up near the top of the tree.

I think our hard work paid off though... it really stands out in the middle of the yard, with the driveway snaking around it. I don't think this snow will last, but for this weekend at least we are living in a winter wonderland. :)

Technical details: This photo was taken with my 5D Mark II + Tamron 28-75 at 28mm, ISO 400, f/8 for 10 seconds.
