One of the first projects we started when we took possession of the new house was to renovate the upstairs guest bathroom. We started by ripping out all of the old floor tiles, but then we ran into a problem. The type of adhesive that was used before was this sticky tar stuff that is impossible to remove.

So we put the project on hold for a while as we moved in. This week I finally got around to finishing the project. I ripped up all of the remaining tile, got some plywood and built a new subfloor on top of the old adhesive. I crawled up into the attic and Angela helped me run new wiring to add a separate timer for the ceiling fan. Angela and I replaced the counter for the sink. After patching up the holes we made in the drywall, I repainted. Then I put down a new vinyl floor, and Angela and I stayed up late putting the light fixture, mirror, towel rack, toilet, shower curtain, and artwork up.

The only thing left to do is to put new moulding around the floor, and caulk around the bathtub and the sink! It was a pretty fun project to do. If you hover your mouse cursor over the image, you can see what it looked like before (well, after we had removed the mirror, toilet and towel rack).

This is my first experiment with rollover picture switching. I didn't quite get the photos lined up, but it is pretty close.

Technical details: This photo was taken with my 5D Mark II + Peleng 8mm fisheye at ISO 1600, f/8 for 1/60th of a second (before picture was taken at 1/100th of a second).
