While we were in Tofino, we saw sea lions, a sea otter, a grey whale, black bears, eagles, other sea birds, and Angela even saw a wolf as we drove along the highway. On one of our guided tours we found this bear eating bugs on the beach. Our guide had been observing a mother bear with two cubs, but this bear was in a different spot, so initially we thought it was a lone male bear. After a while though we spotted two little cubs hiding in a nearby tree.

They were very hard to spot from the boat, and even harder to photograph, but once the mother bear climbed up to get them, they came down to meet her. They were very cute!

Clayoquot sound was very nice, and our tour operator, Ocean Outfitters were very nice as well. We really enjoyed travelling out to Hot Springs Cove with Ike and his grandson. He managed to find sea lions, a sea otter, a handful of eagles, a grey whale, and a black bear on the way!

Technical details: These photos were taken with my Rebel XT + EF 70-300 at 300mm, ISO 400, f/5.6 (left) and f/8 (right) for 1/250th of a second.
