Still a week behind! Oh well.

For the long weekend in May this year we had a special plan to take Kris and Jen somewhere to celebrate their engagement. It was meant to be a pre-wedding bachelor/bachelorette weekend, but their wedding has been postponed, so it was more of just a cottage weekend with friends.

Angela spent a lot of time trying to find the perfect cottage, and we finally settled on one near Sundridge, which is coincidentally very close to one of the wedding venues that Angela and I checked out a couple of months ago.

It turned out to be a beautiful, well stocked cottage. Unfortunately, the weather turned out to be rather cold and rainy, so we didn't get a chance to explore the lake, but we had a lot of fun inside all weekend.

This is a photo I took on the Saturday when we had a break in the weather before sunset. Soon after this photo was taken, Angela, Jen, Laura Lee and Derek decided to go swimming. They lasted about 20 seconds in the frigid waters before they went numb and had to come back out. :)

Technical details: This photo was taken with my Rebel XT + kit lens at 18mm, ISO 100, f/8 for 1/1250th of a second.

Comments

There is surprisingly little flare in that shot considering the lighting
conditions.

Yes... it helped that I didn't have any filters on. All in all, I've had
pretty good luck with the kit lens in that respect.
