While we were exploring around Bernard Lake on Easter weekend we heard that there was a lookout point that gave a good view of the lake, so we went to check it out.

There was an ice fishing tournament going on while we were there, so I decided to take a few pictures while we were up at the lookout.

I was actually surprised at first to see people driving their trucks right out to the middle of the lake, but I guess the size of the lake and the cold winter we had this year means that the ice was plenty thick enough to support all kinds of activity.

I took my wide angle lens and my telephoto lens with me to capture the action. The top photo shows the wide angle view from the lookout point. It's kind of hard to see in this scaled down version of the picture, but every little tiny black speck you can see on the ice is a vehicle or shack or person.

The bottom photo shows the view through my telephoto lens when I pointed it at the cluster of cars visible on the right hand side of the top photo near the point.

Technical details: The top photo was taken with my Rebel XT + EFS 10-22mm at 10mm, ISO 100, f/8 for 1/640th of a second. The bottom photo was taken with my Rebel XT + EF 70-300mm IS at 300mm, ISO 100, f/8 for 1/800th of a second.

Whoa... Didn't see two pictures at first, thought it was one.

Hahah, yes, I was worried that would happen... they seem to fit together so
well. I thought about adding a border, but decided just to leave it the way it
was.

It's more entertaining, trying to find the second picture. I thought Google
Reader was messing with me again.

I agree with Ken. It is more entertaining trying to find the second picture.
