True to my prediction from last week, this week's picture was taken last night through Aravind's telescope. We went out for a relaxing moon observing session, and I decided to bring my digital camera in case a photo opportunity presented itself. I forgot all about it until I was about to leave, so I quickly grabbed it, held it up to eyepiece, and took a few pictures. The little inset photo is the one which turned out the best. The background photo was shamelessly stolen from The American Lunar Society. The red frame indicates the camera's rectangular view. The blue circle marks the telescope's circular view. The green curve marks the boundary of the shadow on the moon as it appeared last night. The most famous lunar crater, Tycho Crater, is just half in the shadows in this image.

This was taken somewhere north of Elmira. I'm not even going to guess where. Well, I guess I just did.
