After the kids were disappointed that they didn't get to see Walk Off The Earth with us in January, we decided to get everyone tickets to see them when they came through Toronto in June!
They were playing at the Budweiser Stage, and it turned out to be an absolutely gorgeous evening for an outdoor concert!
This was the first major rock concert for all three of the kids.
They knew almost all of the songs, and had a great time dancing and singing along.
We also got to participate in the making of a TikTok video / Youtube Short to promote the band.
The song in the TikTok video was a new song that they premiered live that night called "Better at Love", so it was neat to see the first live performance of that song as well.
I had a bit of trouble trying to pick the best photo to use this week, so I chose four:
- The five of us at our first rock concert as a family.
- The Dairy Farmers of Ontario had a photobooth set up, so before the concert Finna and Kai wanted to be in a photo with us, which actually turned out really great, so I had to include it as well.
- The band performed the song that catapulted them into YouTube fame, "Somebody I Used To Know" by Gotye, unfortunately without Mike Taylor, who tragically died a few years ago.
- Of course I had to include a shot of our view of the stage and the amazing pyrotechnics. I had another shot when they lit up the giant disco ball, which illuminated the entire ampitheatre, but I decided to stop at four pictures.
Oh yeah, and I totally didn't notice that Kai was making a sad face until after the photo.
What a jokester.
We all found it hilarious, so I didn't bother trying to retake it.
Technical Details: These photos were taken with my Pixel 6 (and one by the Dairy Farmers of Ontario).
