After the Lady Gaga concert, we had a quiet couple of weeks as Covid-19 slowly made its way through the entire family one by one. I doubt it was because of the concert, because it started only a day or two after. I suspect it came in from summer camp. In any case, we each took a turn being sick.

Just like this was the first year that Blue Skies was back in person, it was also the first year that RiverFest was back! We still had weekend passes that we had purchased in 2019 (for the 2020 RiverFest that never happened), and the festival honoured them. At this point Kai was still testing positive for Covid-19, so Angela and I took turns taking Aila and/or Finna to the festival while the other person stayed home with Kai.

I was sad that I had to miss Alessia Cara and Mother Mother, but Angela and Aila got to see both acts and they had a blast. The highlight of the show for me was a performance by Hamilton's BA Johnston. In particular, Aila was looking forward to hearing a live version of We're All Going To Jail (Except Pete, He's Gonna Die). BA did not disappoint, and the performance of that song was quite a sight to witness.

I apologize in advance to the artist, but I can't remember exactly who this was that I took a picture of onstage. I think it might have been Ruby Waters.
