We signed Finna up for soccer this spring. I decided to take my camera to one of her practices, but when I took it out of the case I was dismayed to find out that the battery was nearly dead, and I forgot to bring my spare. The battery indicator was flashing, which meant that I was lucky the camera even turned on, and I probably only had enough power to take a couple of pictures. I crossed my fingers, hoped for the best, and took this photo. Then the battery fully died and the camera shut off. Luckily, there was just enough battery power left for it to save the photo to the flash card.

For whatever reason, the stars did not align for me to be able to take my camera to soccer practice again, so this is the only photo I have of Finna playing soccer this year. Considering the circumstances, I love this photo. Maybe there is some "take every photo as if it is your last" lesson in here somewhere. Or maybe I should just remember to bring my spare battery with me.

Technical Details: This photo was taken with my Canon 5D Mark II + Tamron G2 150-600 at 188mm, ISO 800, f/8 for 1/250th of a second.
