The daily photo contest at work has sometimes encouraged me to go further than my own backyard. One day the challenge was "something red", and it reminded me that although I have visited the covered bridge in West Montrose before, I don't think I have ever taken a photo of it.

So, on the way home from dropping Finna off at daycare, I stopped by the bridge and took this picture. For those that don't know, this is the last remaining covered brige in Ontario. This bridge is still in its original place, and still carries vehicle traffic across the river. Yes, you can still drive through it to this day.

Well, it will close for one year for a $4 million rehabilitation project, but after that it will open to vehicle traffic again.

Technical Details: This picture was taken with my 5D Mark II + EF 17-40L at 23mm, ISO 100, f/16 for 1/50th of a second.
