I've never been able to see the "man in the moon" that people talk about, until one evening this past December when I was picking Finna up from daycare. I glanced up at the crescent moon and saw it, as clear as can be. I snapped this photo and was excited to come home and write about it as a Picture Of The Week. However, checking the Wikipedia page on the subject, I was suprised to find the following sentence: "Conventionalized illustrations of the Man in the Moon seen in Western art often show a very simple face in the full moon, or a human profile in the crescent moon, corresponding to no actual markings."

At this phase of the moon, I totally think that Mare Crisium and Mare Fecunditatis look like an eye and a mouth, respectively, with the bright part in between them appearing as a nose. What do you think?

Technical Details: This photo was taken with my Pixel 4. I enhanced the contrast significantly to help visualize what I saw that evening.
