Continuing the "board game" theme from last week, Aila is now old enough to start enjoying her first board games. The best game we have tried so far is "Busytown". The goal is for all the players to make it to the end of the map before all the food at the picnic site is gone. Each time a player spins the spinner, there is a small chance that some of the food will be eaten. The most fun part of the game is when the spinner lands on a "Goldbug", and then everyone has a minute to find as many of a particular item (like "kites") on the board as possible. At the end of the minute, if 6 kites were found, then all players get to move up 6 spaces.

So, it is a cooperative board game, and the key to winning consistently is to have good finding skills. Anyway, I highly recommend this game to anyone who has a 3-4 year old and wants to get them started on board games.
