This weekend I attended my first "Scary Weekend" at the Verhoevens' cottage on Baptiste Lake. It was pretty cold and wet all weekend, so we didn't go outside much, but it was still nice to get out of the city.

Due to the weather, I didn't take very many pictures. In fact, I just went outside for about two minutes and took a total of eight photos, mostly of trees. This is one of them, showing precisely how wet everything was.

I was debating whether to use this photo as my picture of the week, or whether I should take a photo of the pumpkin that Angela carved, but someone stole the pumpkin today while I was at work, so that pretty much made my decision for me.

This Halloween was actually a busy one at my house. A total of 14 neighbourhood kids came to my door, including a teenager who seemed to be dressed as a teenager. Or maybe he was a kid dressed as a teenager in such a convincing way that I totally fell for it. Anyway, he was the scariest visitor, so I quickly gave him a chocolate bar and hoped it pleased him enough to not egg my house.

The least scariest visitor was Angela, who dropped by with two people from the group home she was working at, bringing the total number of chocolate bars dispensed to 17. If this rate keeps up I will have to start buying cheaper candy.

Technical details: This was shot with my Rebel XT + 70-300 IS at 225mm, ISO 200, f/8 for 1/50th of a second.

Comments

I had a couple of kids dressing up as teenagers too. They are pretty scary,
especially when their costume is so detailed that they appear to be a foot
taller than me.

You spelled attended wrong in your first sentence. :)
