True to my word, here is another Picture Of The Week devoted to the movie "Spinning Boris". This week's picture is called "movie magic".

These two scenes were filmed in Hamilton (unfortunately I don't remember exactly where in Hamilton), on a very hot summer's day. My car is the red one parked in the background, and Aravind and I decided to sit in the car while they were shooting, since we really had nothing better to do. I was very interested to see how these two scenes came out in the final product, because one was supposed to be during summer, and the other was supposed to be in the middle of a Moscow winter. As you can see from the two frames below, there are a number of differences:

• The buildings in the background have been replaced with matte paintings of Russian buildings.
• The leaves have been digitally removed from the trees.
• The colours seem to be slightly different between the two scenes, even though they were shot at practically the same time.
• They changed the poster on the bus stop, but they didn't change the positions of the cars. In fact, the same green truck drives through the intersection in both shots!
• During filming of the bottom scene, the green truck actually ran a red light... but they have digitally changed the green light to a red so the viewer won't notice. That is an awefully bright red light!
  I really can't remember where this was shot!
