Since this was the August long weekend, we headed up to Clarendon for the Blue Skies music festival. This was Angela's chance to try out her refurbished camera. It worked pretty well! Unfortunately the telephoto lens seems to be broken, but the 50mm lens worked great.
This is a photo that Angela took on Saturday afternoon during a performance by Don Ross. It was a real treat to see him play, and on Sunday he hosted an informative workshop on alternate tunings.
For me the real gem here is not necessarily the photo itself (although it is a very flattering pic of Don Ross) but the accompanying Google map indicating that Blue Skies is somewhere south of a Street With No Name. Which makes me think of U2. Aw, great, now I'll have that song in my head all day... Anyway, the obscure location also underscores for me how off-the-beaten track Blue Skies is, and how in-the-know you must be to even know how to get there!-- Jen
