Growing up in Ottawa meant that I spent many Canada Day holidays downtown partying with thousands of other people. Angela, on the other hand, had never been to Ottawa for Canada Day. I think every Canadian should spend at least one Canada Day in Ottawa... if for no other reason than to see what it looks like when thousands of people all wear red and white. So, this weekend we made the long journey from Waterloo to Ompah, and then we spent the day in Ottawa taking part in the festivities.

I was torn between two choices for this week's picture. I finally decided on this one, because I thought it captured the mood of the day fairly well. For those that don't recognize it, this busker is actually performing on the National War Memorial.

Well, we were only in the city for a few hours. If I called *everyone* I knew
every time that happened I wouldn't be able to get anything done. ;)

I'm
actually in Ottawa more often than most people realize... one slightly
embarassing moment was when Luch and I went to Denny's on Merivale and we
bumped into my mom and Susan... I hadn't told any of my family that I was going
to be in town that weekend. Luckily she wasn't offended... she told me I was
free to roam the province as I pleased. ;)

Anyway, I'm sure I will see you
there this weekend!
