For the Canada Day long weekend, I went up to a cottage near Bancroft with Angela and about 14 of her friends. On Canada Day itself, we drove in to Algonquin Park to do some short hikes. One of the trails we picked was the "Big Pines" trail. It certainly had plenty of big pines, including the biggest pine in the park, apparently. This pine was not the biggest, but it was pretty big, and had survived a direct lightning strike sometime in its past. I chose this as my Picture Of The Week, because I like the contrast between the dark tree, the bright sky, and the leaves.

Somewhere along the big pines trail.
