This Easter, Angela and I spent four days in Ompah. It was a very relaxing vacation. On Easter Sunday, we hiked up to the top of the lookout between Palmerston Lake and Canonto Lake. This 360 degree panorama consists of nine shots taken with my digital camera from the top of the lookout.
Instead of piecing the panorama together myself, I decided to experiment with a few shareware and freeware photo stitching programs. I compared five different programs. Each of them had their strengths and weaknesses, and each of them was crippled in some way. I chose to post the one generated by "Panorama Factory", since it did the best job of colour balancing the photos and adjusting for the fact that they were taken with different exposure times and aperture settings. Unfortunately it didn't really do a good job at the seams. In the future, I might try to do the colour balancing myself, and then use another program to stitch the photos together. In the meantime, consider this an advertisement for Panorama Factory. :)
