Aila and Kai's cousin Samantha turned 2, and her birthday party was at a really neat splash park in Brampton. The kids had a lot of fun playing in the water. It was the most elaborate splash park I've ever seen, with nice soft rubbery ground material, a big misty area, and all sorts of different water squirting things to run through.

After Aila and Kai were finished playing in the water, Aila put her wearable towel on and Kai changed into his spare outfit. They both had fun playing on the climbing structures.

Short Aila story: Just after this photo was taken, Aila wanted to play "hide and seek" with me. I realized that it wasn't a very good choice of game when it was her turn to hide and I couldn't find her. Kudos to her for finding a great hiding spot and committing to it, but in the future I think I will skip that game when we are at a crowded outdoor venue.

Short Kai story: I took this photo after Kai had learned how to walk down stairs all by himself for the first time. He was so proud! Grandma came over as he was heading down the stairs again and we had the following exchange:

Grandma: "Does he need help getting down the stairs?"

Me: "No, he's fine."

Grandma: "Wow, when did he learn how to go down the stairs by himself?"

Me: "About ten minutes ago."

Kai is not always cautious, but this time he was very focused on getting down the stairs safely, so I just stood back and let him figure it out. He was very happy with himself.

Technical Details: These photos were taken with my 5D Mark II + Tamron 28-75 at (32mm, 54mm), ISO 100, f/8 for (1/250th, 1/125th) of a second.
