A few years ago I got a photo of some deer across the road from our hourse. In the winter, the deer hang out in the back yard, but I've never been able to get a decent photo of them since they usually just pass by the house without stopping. Then one morning I was up before everyone else and noticed a group of at least four deer hanging out down by the river. I had enough time to go downstairs, get my camera, attach my telephoto lens, and snap this shot from the kitchen window before they moved on.
Technical Details: This photo was taken with my 5D Mark II + EF 70-300IS at 300mm, ISO 3200, f/5.6 for 1/50th of a second.
