Our Blue Skies trip was almost a week long this year! Since we don't have our new vehicle yet, we rented a van and left Elora on Wednesday morning. On the way up we visited Aila and Kai's Great Grandpa on Rice Lake, and then continued on to the Sharbot Lake Country Inn, which we had booked for two nights.

That meant we had a whole extra day to spend exploring Sharbot Lake and visiting Poppa's new cabin at Lothlorien Farm. One of the things I wanted to do with Aila on this trip was to spend some time at the beach in Sharbot Lake, like I used to do as a kid sometimes during Blue Skies. This is a photo I took just before breakfast as we were exploring the beach for the first time. After breakfast, we got our bathing suits on and Aila had a lot of fun splashing around in the shallow water, finding snails and chasing minnows.

The weather turned out to be really amazing during our entire Blue Skies trip this year. Even though parts of the area back home were flooded, we didn't experience any rain at all while we were camping!
