The Grand River Raceway had an open house the week before this year's racing season started, so we headed over there to check it out. We got to meet some of the race horses and learn a bit about what happens before a race. Aila was also able to go for a lap around the track!

That same weekend, the Elora Lions Club put on a fireworks show at the raceway for Victoria Day. It was Kai's first fireworks. He wasn't very impressed, though. I think he was too annoyed at having to wear hearing protection to enjoy the sights of the fireworks. Aila enjoyed the show immensely, of course, and she was happy that she got to wear the ear muffs that I use when I'm snowblowing the driveway.
