Kai Hunter Anttila was born on Friday, March 14th! On Thursday, Angela went into the hospital for a routine ultrasound, and her blood pressure was a little high. Based on the size of the baby (estimated to be over 10 pounds), and the fact that the baby had not "dropped" yet, the doctor recommended an elective C-section for the next morning. And thus Kai came into the world a little earlier than expected.
The surgery went much more smoothly this time around, and we were discharged from the hospital after only 28 hours... much earlier than the usual 48. Now we are back at home, healing up nicely and getting used to our new family dynamics.
This photo was taken in the hospital when Kai was only a few hours old. At the moment, he is now one week old and is doing great!
