I was invited out for an evening of board games at Adam's house this weekend. There were eight of us in total, and we played six games that I had never played before: The Resistance, Cards Against Humanity, Panic on Wall Street!, Room-25, Tsuro of the Seas, and Power Grid.

It was tons of fun! I did fairly well as an investor on Wall Street, and also as a coal-based power company stretching from LA to Houston to Minneapolis in Power Grid.

This is a photo I took at the beginning of the game "Room 25". Luch was playing "The Nerd" on the left, and my character was "The Bimbo" on the right. Unfortunately for me, The Nerd turned out to be a secret guard, and due to some good moves by him and the other secret guard, our team wound up losing (by having two of our team members gruesomely cut up by circular saws).

So, if you find yourself planning a games night for eight people, I recommend checking out "Panic on Wall Street!" and "Power Grid". "Room 25" was interesting but I felt it was over pretty quicky in our case. "The Resistance" was fun too... I had trouble keeping a poker face when I was the government spy. I don't really recommend "Tsuro of the Seas", but I hear that the original "Tsuro" is a good game. "Cards Against Humanity" is basically "Apples to Apples" where everyone has been spending too much time on 4chan.

Technical Details: This photo was taken with my Canon 5D Mark II + EF 100mm Macro at ISO 3200, f/2.8 for 1/50th of a second (handheld). I should have brought a tripod or a flash so that I could get more depth of field.
