Summer is drawing to a close faster than anyone wants it to, but at least we are making the most of it this year. Most recently, Angela participated in an attempt to set the record for the "World's Biggest Bake Sale". She baked 160 cupcakes to help them sell over $14,000 worth of goodies to raise funds for the Kitchener Grand-River Rotary charities. Unfortunately, they were around 426 treats short of beating the record, but they wound up setting the Canadian record.

As August continues on, we are also trying to use our pool for as long as we can. This weekend Aila's cousins Zoe and Fiona came up for a visit and a swim in the pool. Aila was super excited to have them over and she had an awesome time running around the deck with Fiona, borrowing Zoe's swim gear and reading stories with everyone in the family room. She also received a bunch of new hand-me-down clothes which she has been proudly wearing to daycare and getting a ton of compliments on.

Keeping our weekends busy has been great, but it means I have to sneak in my photography projects here and there in the evenings whenever I can. Last week I set up Angela's old camera (which I have upgraded with the CHDK "hacked" firmware) to take a night timelapse. I set it up on the back deck (pointed towards the north star) and went to sleep. The results are pretty neat (watch at 1080p if you can for full quality). Hopefully I will be able to do more timelapses in the future.

Technical Details: This photo was taken with my Canon 5D Mark II + EF 70-300 IS at 165mm, ISO 400, f/5 for 1/200th of a second.
