This weekend we went to visit Grandma in Orangeville. Grandma has a beautiful cat named Sayla that she adopted from a shelter. Sayla is very calm and was quite tolerant of Aila's attempts to pet her. She even let Aila take turns chasing after her laser pointer!

While Aila was busy playing I had the opportunity to get this photo of Sayla using the light coming into the living room window. Speaking of cats, I recently discovered that you should always put your cat's water dish far away from its food. Cats are hunters by nature, and their instinct is to not drink any water that is close to their food because it would be contaminated by their kill if they were in the wild. So, place the water dish at least a few meters away from the food dish - in another room if possible, and maybe you will find that they will drink more from there and less from the toilet or from muddy puddles outside.

Technical details: This photo was taken with my 5D Mark II + Tamron 28-75 at 75mm, ISO 1600, f/4 for 1/100th of a second.
