Well the weather has certainly been interesting this year. We took advantage of some wet snow early this month by making a snowman. Aila was introducted to the concept of a ghost at Halloween. She knows that ghosts say "Boo!" However, when we took down our Halloween decorations and put up our Christmas decorations, she kept pointing to the snowmen and saying "Boo!"

I wanted her to understand that snowmen are different from ghosts, so the first time that snow conditions were right, we all bundled up and went outside to make a snowman. She was very intrigued by the whole process. We built it very quickly, breaking up a long stick to make the eyes, mouth, and arms. Then, due to the strange weather this January, we watched it melt over the next few days.

Now, whenever she sees a snowman, she says "Bye!"
