Here is one of the reasons I have been taking my camera to work with me. My commute into work is very scenic, especially early in the morning as the sun is coming up. I often pass by this track leading through a field up towards a tree in the distance, and if the weather is just right, it looks amazing.

The weather has been quite warm this winter, so there really hasn't been very much snow. On the days that it does snow, the weather is usually so terrible that you can't even see the tree in the background. Then, when the weather is sunny, all of the snow melts.

This photo captures some ice still on the ground. I'm sure by the end of the day that last remaining ice was gone.

Hopefully I will be able to capture more images from my commute over time.

Technical details: This photo was taken with my 5D Mark II + Tamron 28-75 at 75mm, ISO 100, f/16 for 1/80th of a second.

What do you find amazing about it? Its symmetry?

I find it amazing how all the elements come together: The lone tree; the path
through the field; the angle of the field that makes it look like the path is
leading up to the lonely tree on the horizon; the fact that the sun rises
behind the scene, causing the tree to be silhouetted against the morning sky.

It looks like a scene out of a movie. Actually it reminds me of Andy's oak
tree from Shawshank Redemption.
