A few weeks ago we went to the Ontario Science Centre for "Teacher and Family Day" with Jason, Tanya and Chloe. We had a great time exploring, and checking out the neat whale exhibit they have there.
While we were there, they had a live feed of Space Shuttle Discovery docking with the International Space Station for the last time. I was a little surprised that nobody else was watching. I took this photo a few seconds after the docking took place. This is a live view from the Space Shuttle. It was quite spectactular!
I guess since everyone can stream Nasa TV on their computers now, thanks to the internet, that scenes like this aren't considered a big deal anymore... or maybe I was the only person there who understood what I was seeing. Anyway, I thought it was quite a cool moment, so I thought I would share.
Technical details: This photo was taken using by 5D Mark II + Tamron 28-75 at 28mm, ISO 1600, f/2.8 for 1/40th of a second.
Very cool. Thanks for sharing!-- Alix at 1:01am, Friday March 18, 2011 EST
