I was outside trying to level our air conditioner on the weekend, when our neighbour Colin came over. I thought he was going to offer to help me, but instead he just wanted to let me know that there were some deer across the road. Apparently deer often hang out across he road in the fall, then once the snow falls they start hanging out in the back yard by the river.

I figured that deer would make a more interesting photo than a slightly-more-level air conditioner, so I grabbed my camera and headed across the road. These three does were hanging out at the far end of the field. Angela had seen a buck with huge antlers the other day as she was driving home, so I was a little disappointed that he wasn't around. These deer seemed a little nervous about my presence, but I managed to get a few photos without scaring them off.

Technical details: This photo was taken with my 5D Mark II + EF 70-300 IS at 300mm, ISO 1600, f/5.6 for 1/160th of a second.
