Happy news! I am now the proud new owner of a black Canon Digital Rebel XT! I was so excited when I brought it home on Thursday that I couldn't bother reading the manual, I just had to try taking a picture. This is a cropped version of the first picture I took with my new camera. I didn't take any time to plan the shot... I just put the camera into fully automatic mode and pressed the button. So, please take my excitement into consideration when you notice that the car is overexposed, the depth of field is too narrow, and the shadows are too harsh, etc.

Is that a Lada!?!

Yup, it's a 1:43 scale VAZ 2102.  Bought it on eBay for about $10.  It sits on
top of my keyboard at work.  The tires are actually rubber!  It's a real smooth
drive... smoother than the real thing!
